Making fit notes more fit for purpose - A FREE webinar brought to you by MEDIGOLD

As you will all no doubt be aware, new legislation came into force at the start of this month which will allow more healthcare professionals to legally issue and certify fit notes.

The changes, which were laid out by the government in June, mean that employees will no longer be restricted to requesting fit notes from their doctor and will now be able to obtain these, where appropriate, from their nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist or pharmacist instead.

While the move has been generally welcomed and will hopefully bring many benefits (namely helping to reduce pressure on already overstretched GPs, curbing delays in receiving fit notes and allowing people to access more tailored advice on managing their health at work) it has understandably also thrown up a number of questions.
