Ninjas Assemble! 🧡

Never before have so many HR Ninjas congregated together under one roof at the same time! We are ready for the CIPD Festival of Work.. but is the CIPD Festival of Work ready for us????

Wear something orange to identify yourself as a Ninja and let’s flood the Excel with Ninjas vibrant orange! Look out for me if you’re planning on being there, it would be great to say hello!

And as if that wasn’t enough excitement for one week! I am actually being allowed out into the world for a third day on the bounce this week…

Yep on Friday we have the first in our Summer Series of Ninjas Walk n Talk events sponsored by YuLife happening, which is v exciting! After two days in the big smoke it will be nice for me to get outside into nature! Can’t wait to dust off my hiking boots for a good old stomp around the gorgeous Peak District. It’s hard to beat fresh air and the gorgeous views - but throw in a good natter with fellow Ninjas on top and maybe a beer or two at the end – and it’s a pretty perfect combo!

Whatever you’re up to this week, I hope it’s a good one for you.

Keep shining,

I'm wearing Orange!.jpg

Check out Lizzie's post about how to spot another HR Ninja at the event and how Members of the HR Ninjas Facebook Community can join a 48hr 'pop-up' chat to connect ahead of / during the CIPD Festival of Work!

Celebrating Uniqueness: Understanding & Empowering Intersectional Neurodiversity Inclusion

Every person's experience with neurodiversity is unique, shaped by the various contexts and intersecting identities that make up who they are. The concept of intersectionality, introduced by Kimberlé Crenshaw, highlights how an individual can face compounded discrimination or privilege based on the interplay of their multiple social identities like race, gender, sexuality, class, and more.

When we view neurodiversity through this intersectional lens, we understand that being neurodivergent is just one facet of a person's multifaceted identity. Their lived experience as a neurodivergent individual is further nuanced by how their neurodivergence intersects with other aspects of their identity and background.

Join us for a panel discussion where we bring together a group of experts to discuss intersectional neurodiversity inclusion. The panel will share their expertise and lived experience of intersectionality to highlight that an intersectional approach reminds us that no two neurodivergent people's experiences are identical.

Some topics of discussion:

  • The intersections between neurodiversity, such as cultural background, gender, sexual orientation, mental health, socio-economic status

  • Diagnostic disparities

  • Stigma and stereotypes

  • Removing barriers and changing attitudes

  • Advantages to society in working towards an intersectionally inclusive future for all, regardless of label or diagnosis
