This week I've been back I'm the UK and what a week to be home! 😃 I hope you were all able to get outside to enjoy a few rays ☀️ wherever you are in the UK!

My intro has a distinct feel of mother nature about it this week!  Lauren and I took the opportunity to get outdoors for a walking meeting. I don't know about you but I always feel most creative when I am outside in nature. We had a good session bouncing around ideas for new partner collabs 💡 and we can't wait to reveal some really exciting stuff coming your way from our existing partners very soon! Here we are enjoying a good stomp through the green hills of Bakewell 😃

And talking of stomps, I am really excited to bring you our latest initiative - Ninjas Walk n Talks in partnership with YuLife. Could it be time to dust off those walking boots and join us for a hike with fellow Ninjas in the great outdoors? 🌳🌳🌳 Everyone is welcome, and its completely free to get involved. But please, in the spirit of community and not depriving another Ninja of a place, only register if you can 100% commit to joining us.

In the current economic climate, many firms are faced with the unenviable task of planning for redundancies, and while the process can be a daunting one, it’s important that HR Teams manage the redundancy process thoroughly and sensitively. Organisations that can demonstrate that they have supported those employees are in a much better place to encourage and protect engagement and productivity of the remaining employees.

A valuable way to support all employees during times of change is to ensure the message is delivered appropriately. To help HR ensure they communicate this process effectively, our partners at Renovo have put together a “10 step guide to managing the message of redundancy” which includes guidance on:

• Knowing your audience and making sure your message is appropriate

• Considering where and when to convey your message

• The importance of following up and support

Wagestream research: essential and excluded.

This research considers how financial exclusion impacts the shift and frontline workforce - in a study of 11,000 workers across hospitality and leisure, retail, healthcare and support services.

At least one in seven UK adults are financially excluded—around 14% of all UK adults. Yet Wagestream research from 2023 suggests that this figure may be more than twice as high in particular sectors that employ large numbers of frontline workers, such as retail and hospitality.

This research explores the topic of financial exclusion, including what it means to be excluded, how this differs based on gender and ethnicity, and how employers can support their colleagues’ financial wellbeing.

Since our last Ninjas News, there's been another 5 Socials taking place across the UK!

And when we say across the UK, we really mean it, all the way from Edinburgh to Devon you lovely peeps have been getting together in the name of HR Ninjas.

Here's a pic shared by Amie, who hosts the London Ninjas Breakfast Club Meet Ups. There were train strikes (oh London!) and still this group of 4 HR Ninjas were able to get together over jam & toast and start off their working week together.
